To assist the Senior Chef on duty with storage, preparation and cooking of all food items for the restaurant, whilst adhering to all Health and Food Safety areas as laid out by the company. To also demonstrate and help maintain high levels of service that consistently exceeds the expectations of our members. You will be responsible to cook in the absence of other senior chefs, administering all phases of the kitchen operation ensuring that the kitchen is run to the company’s operational standards.
Responsibilities and Duties

- Ensuring that the production, preparation and presentation, taste, texture and quantity are maintained to the standard laid by the company.
- All Mise En Place to be 100% complete and organized for all service periods.
- All stock to be rotated and dated and managed as to reduce wastage.
- Standard recipes will be used, in conjunction with strict portion control for all food items produced.
- To ensure stock is controlled and rotated. Also ensures that the Kitchen carries adequate food par stocks, for efficient operation of the kitchen. Inform the Head chef, Sous chef or chef de partie in a timely manner if stock is low.
- To report any maintenance issues to the Head Chef immediately.
- Ensure that the kitchen equipment is in good conditions and meets all requirements; Cleans the equipment and utensils and maintains the kitchen clean and in good order for proper functioning.
- Understands and adheres to proper food handling, safety and sanitation standards during food & beverage preparation, service and clean up.
- To report any maintenance issues to the Head Chef immediately.
- To be flexible and willing to help other departments at busy times if required.
- Maintaining a high level of cleanliness in the work area, and takes care with all equipment and materials.
- Carry out any other duties as required by management.
- Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the store as directed by the store manager or immediate supervisor.

Required Qualifications
- High level of flexibility- Flexible working hours subject to the demand of the business.
- Able to work under pressure.
- The successful candidate must have at least 1 years’ experience cooking in a busy kitchen.
- Good communication skills. - Responsible for cleanliness, stock control, organization and standards of the pastry section.
- The job will require occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs., and ability to stand for long periods of time, as well as frequent and continual flexing and rotating of wrist and spine.
- Physical Demands and Work Environment
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and climb or balance.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., and to lift overhead and push/pull, move lighter objects.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles.
